Academic Language Therapy
for Students with Dyslexia

Specialized, individualized dyslexia therapy grounded in structured literacy, diagnostic teaching, and deep linguistic expertise.

What is Academic Language Therapy?

Academic language therapy is a specialized field focused on the remediation of dyslexia and related language-based learning differences. Serving students and families in Albuquerque and across the greater New Mexico community, instruction is guided by diagnostic teaching, meaning each lesson is informed by ongoing analysis of a student’s reading, spelling, and written language performance.

This work is individualized, cumulative, and intensive. It requires deep knowledge of language structure, reading development, and the instructional precision needed to build accurate and fluent literacy skills over time.

When this level of support is needed

Students who require more than typical reading support often include:

     • Students with diagnosed dyslexia
     • Students with persistent difficulty despite prior intervention
     • Students who are bright but not accessing reading and writing as expected
     • Twice-exceptional learners
     • Students whose confidence has been impacted by ongoing academic struggle
