Mrs. Erin Brown, CALT
My name is Erin (Folk) Brown and I am a Certified Academic Language Therapist located in Albuquerque, NM. I am dedicated to helping children with dyslexia and other learning differences.
I graduated from the University of New Mexico in 2005 with a degree in Elementary Education. In 2008, I began attending the Multisensory Language Training Institute of NM (MLTI-NM), where I received in-depth training in specific developmental dyslexia, and research based techniques and curricula for teaching reading and written language skills to students with dyslexia and/or related language learning disorders.
An active advocate and educator for students with language-based learning differences
- As a licensed New Mexico Educator, I have implemented successful remediation programs in Albuquerque public schools, as both an interventionist, and elementary school teacher.
- I serve as an Executive Board Member for the SW Branch of the International Dyslexia Association.
- I provide simulations and presentations about dyslexia basics for educator conferences and community groups in related fields.
In addition to having fun working with my students, I am active in
Albuquerque’s African dance community as a student, teacher and
performer. |
